Commissary Hot Line Supervisor

John Bull Ltd is looking for a Commissary Hot Line Supervisor to join our team in Nassau, Bahamas at our Commissary in Palmdale.
The ideal candidate is results-driven, hard worker, attention to detail, is observant, and enjoys the kitchen production environment.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Kitchen Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising the culinary Department at the Commissary as directed by the Commissary Manager. They must demonstrate strong leadership qualities with attention to detail in elevating and sustaining a competitive edge. The Kitchen Shift Supervisor is accountable for the quality and consistency of all culinary products produced; partner training and accountability of costs associated with the culinary department. The Kitchen Shift Supervisor works directly with the Manager on the creation, development and implementation of new culinary items and creative menu development.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following, but not limited to:
· Demonstrates hands on approach to all food products produced by the Culinary Department
ensuring quality, presentation and consistency standards meet company standards
· Assist with the development of standardized recipes for all menu items. Ensures that recipes
are accurate and updated as needed
· Ensures that all food products prepared meet the established specifications and standards.
· Ensures proper levels of culinary items are prepared based on forecasted needs and their prompt delivery to the designated outlet for guest consumption
· Responsible for processing all order requests for the Commissary, and distributing these
requests to the appropriate teams
· Maybe asked to assist in creating, discussing and or provide feedback on Commissary recipes
· With a “Hands on Approach” assigns tasks effectively for the efficient use of allocated labor
ensuring maximum results are achieved and daily production needs have been met in a
timely, organized and efficient manner
· Responsible for complete set up, cleanliness and organization of the Culinary Department, with
with supervisory oversight for all other food preparation areas within the Commissary
· Seeks to maintain knowledge of industry trends in the world of Culinary and baking
· Physical preparation and final finishing of food items not limited to the
Starbucks based operations
· Act as a Manager, team leader and motivator for the Commissary in the absence of the Commissary Manager
· Recommends measures to improve production/service methods, equipment performance,
scheduling, quality control, and suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment
to increase efficiency and safety of the food service operations
· Required to work directly with Commissary partners to ensure the same level of standards and
specifications are maintained throughout the entire foodservice operation
· Reviews menu items constantly and makes changes as necessary. Minimizes wastage and utilizes excess inventory whenever possible
· Creates recipe cards for all menu items and trains team accordingly
· Assists the Food Manager with the annual budget process and makes recommendations with
regards to the Culinary Department
· Facilitates all health, safety, sanitary rules, regulations and standards according to local health
codes are enforced and followed correctly
· Manages accurate inventory counts as frequent as deemed necessary by the Company
with responsibility for maintaining all tools with current information
· Must be able to effectively calculate food costs for all Commissary recipes, and perform regular
costing updates to ensure sale prices are current
· Manage weekly work schedules with a minimum (2) week advance posting, shared responsibility for payroll duties
· Ensures a sanitary, clean, organized, safe, comfortable environment for employees is maintained at all times.
· Hosts periodic team meetings and or trainings sessions as required
· Other related duties as assigned
